Phase 1

DISCOVERY & DESIGN

Step 1: Discovery

Listening and Sharing Phase of The Project
The "listening phase" of a project, while not a formal, universally recognized stage in the Project Management lifecycle, is a crucial concept at RBS within project initiation and planning, emphasizing active and attentive information gathering from all stakeholders especially the new client.

Step 2: Design

The Project Profile, Illustrate the visionary direction of the build
A project's design phase is a crucial stage where the project's overall concept is translated into detailed plans and specifications. It typically involves several key stages, including schematic design, major parts development, and the creation of build plan documents as well as ROM. Each stage builds upon the previous one, refining the project's details and ensuring it's ready for the next phase.

Step 3: The Teardown

Delayering, Disassembly, Documentation and Storage.
In the context of an automotive project, the car teardown phase is a critical process involving the systematic disassembly of a vehicle, or a specific part of a vehicle, for detailed examination and analysis.

Step 4: Parts Procurement

Order Parts and Begin the Parts Life Cycle
The parts and supply chain procurement phase of a project involves sourcing, acquiring, and managing the necessary materials and services to complete a project. It's a critical part of both project management and supply chain management, ensuring the project has the right resources at the right time and cost. This phase includes identifying needs, selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing the ongoing relationship with suppliers.

FABRICATION

Step 5: Chassis Fabrication

Metal fab, suspension, steering, brake, and differential
The chassis fabrication phase of a project refers to the process of building the skeletal framework of a vehicle, often compared to the human skeleton. It provides the fundamental structure and support for all other components to be attached to, playing a crucial role in a vehicle's stability, safety, and overall performance.

Step 6: Sheet Metal Fabrication

Sheet Metal Work- Rust Removal, Alignment, Dent Removal...
he metal fabrication phase of a project is where raw metal materials are transformed into finished or semi-finished products. This involves a series of processes like cutting, bending, shaping, and assembling metal components, often based on specific design requirements. It's a crucial part of many industries, including construction, automotive, and aerospace.

Step 7: Mechanical Fabrications

Rebuilding sub assemblies, power trains, and other components as well as extensive “pre/install” of systems such as ac, wiring, sub assemblies, housings, cooling and other mechanical systems.

Step 8: Interior Fabrications

Frame restoration, custom foaming, console creations, design, sewing, material attachment and other interior segments of build scope including mock fits.

Step 9: Fluidity of Fabrications

Beautification of systems, harmonious balance of systems, testing and proper care for long term storage.

Phase 3

BODY SHOP

Step 10: Body Shop 1

Initial Body- Raw Body Work.
The bodywork phase of a car repair project focuses on restoring the vehicle's exterior panels and structure to their original condition. This includes assessing damage, repairing or replacing panels, and preparing the surface for painting. It's a crucial step in bringing a damaged vehicle back to its pre-accident or desired state. All projects starts with initial bodywork.

Step 11: Body Shop 2

Body Gaps & Fit- Line Shaping and Pre-Fitment of Bumpers, Chrome and other Exterior components.
The "car body gap and fit phase" is a critical part of the automotive product development process focused on achieving precise and consistent alignment of a vehicle's various panels and components. The time invested is reflective of end achievement.

Step 12: Body Shop 3

Final Body- Block Sanding and Final Primers.
Block sanding is a crucial step in auto body work where a flat sanding block is used to smooth out imperfections on a car's body panels after applying body filler or primer. This process ensures a perfectly flat and even surface for painting, removing any waves or low spots that could otherwise show through the final paint.

Phase 4

PAINT SHOP

Step 13: Paint Shop 1

Painter's Block- Water Sanding & Final Inspection.
Wet sanding is a car painting preparation step where a fine-grit sandpaper (often 1500-2000 grit) is used with water to smooth the surface of the car's paint or primer, removing imperfections and creating a uniform, polished base for new paint. This process helps the new paint adhere better and results in a smoother, more professional finish.

Step 14: Paint Shop 2

Prep Time- Disassembly, Repositioning and Masking for Paint.
Masking a car is the process of covering specific areas of a vehicle with tape and protective materials to prevent paint from reaching them during a paint job. This step is crucial for achieving clean paint lines, protecting areas that don't need painting, and ensuring a professional, high-quality finish.

Step 15: Paint Shop 3

Booth Time- Coloring and Clearing Process.
The base coat and clear coat system is a popular two-stage painting process, especially prevalent in automotive finishes. "Painting" involves applying two distinct layers to achieve a desired color, aesthetic effects, and provide protection. While come candies will require a "mid coat" or 3 stage process.

Step 16: Paint Shop 4

Post Booth Time- Color Sanding, Buffing.
Color sanding, also known as wet sanding, and subsequent buffing are crucial steps in achieving a professional, high-gloss finish for paint projects, particularly in automotive detailing. This is another instance where chosen level dictates time invested which ultimately dictates end result.

Phase 5

F.I.T GARAGE

Step 17: FIT Garage 1

Finishing, Interior, and Technology Join Coach and Chassis and assemble all body sections.
In car manufacturing, the chassis assembly phase follows the body shop and precedes the final assembly. It's where the chassis, which includes the frame, suspension, and powertrain components, is assembled and attached to the car's body. This stage brings together the foundational structure of the vehicle with the body, preparing it for further outfitting.

Step 18: FIT Garage 2

Finishing, Interior and Technology - Electrical wiring, Final Assembly; Ready car for Trim Shop.
The car assembly phase in car building is the process of putting together all the manufactured parts to create a complete vehicle. This involves various stages, from pre-assembly of components to final assembly with the addition of finishing touches like lights and wheels. The assembly process is crucial for ensuring a high-quality, functioning vehicle

Step 19: FIT Garage 3

Trim Shop Final Creations of Wood/Fiberglass/Upholstery, Audio-Visual Systems Interior Components, Glass Installation
The upholstery and interior phase in car building is when the interior of the vehicle is constructed and finished, focusing on the materials and design elements that enhance the look, feel, and comfort of the cabin. This includes the installation of seats, carpets, door panels, dashboards, headliners, and other trim pieces. The interior is set for final install and final complexities.

Step 20: Performance Shop 1

Topside & Bottom mechanical installations.
In car building, the powertrain and drivetrain represent a crucial phase involving the design, integration, and optimization of all components responsible for generating and delivering power to the wheels, ultimately propelling the vehicle forward.

Step 21: Performance Shop 2

Mechanical Perfection
In car building, final assembly is the last major stage where the vehicle's body and drivetrain are joined, and all remaining components like interior parts, wheels, and exterior elements are installed. It's essentially where the complete vehicle is put together and readied for delivery. This stage often involves both automated processes and human inspection to ensure quality and proper installation

Step 22: Performance Shop 3

Ancillary Mechanical Systems are Tuned and Tested.
It involves a combination of testing and calibration methodologies aimed at ensuring the vehicle meets performance, safety, and visionary standards, and provides an optimal driving experience for the client.

Phase 7

QUALITY CONTROL

Step 23: Build Completion

Evaluate Master Checklist, Final Adjustments, Initial Road Test and Preliminary Reveal/Client Test Drive.
The road testing phase in car building is a critical stage where fresh restoration vehicles are driven on various real-world roads and/or controlled test tracks to evaluate their performance, durability, safety, and overall reliability before client delivery.

Step 24: R&D Final Road Testing

Once the assembly and all systems are complete, we road test the vehicle for 200-500 miles. Once the drive-ability and systems evaluations are approved by Sabra, the final detail and scheduling of delivery are completed. The provenance of certificates of authenticity, silver or gold plates attached and final build summary completed as well as portal access granted for post build usage to protect said asset.

Phase 8

DELIVERY

Step 25: Dream Delivery

Final Reveal and Delivery to the Client -Full detailing of vehicle inside & final photo documentation process. The final delivery phase in car building refers to the process of transporting the finished, restored vehicle from Restorations By Sabra to the end destination, typically the Restorations By Sabra staff personally transports the vehicles door to door.
